Our English Bulldog eats too quickly. If you are in any way representative of our Walk Fido clientele, at least 50% of you have dogs that eat too quickly as well. So we've been checking out the so called "slow down" bowls on the market and thought we'd do a round-up of what's out there. We'll be doing some testing of our own with Oscar the bulldog later this month.
Have you tried any of these? Have they worked for you? If so, let us know. We're eager to see if it works with our scrunched up bulldog's face & other doggy clients just like him who have pushed-in faces and eat with a shovel-it-in speed that is astounding.
Brake-Fast Bowl $17.65 at OhMyDogSupplies
Eat Slower Pet Dish $17.95 at Eat Slower Pet Dishes
Dog Pause Bowl $12.95 at Dog Pause Bowl
Eat Slow Bowl $28.90 at SitStay.com
Slow 'Em Down Metal Bowls $39 or $49 at Orvis
Durapet Slowfeed Dog Bowl $10.99 at JBPet
I also have an english bulldog that eats way too fast. I purchased the medium skid stop slow feed bowl from amazon and my bulldog is not able to get her face in it correctly to eat. So needless to say, I will be sending it back. Please let me know which one works best for your bulldog!

Jenn - We'll be doing some testing this month and will share the results and hopefully some video of our bulldog in action.
Sorry to hear that bowl didn't work out for you - we'll find a solution for our smushy-faced friends and let you know!

We purchased the Slow em Down Metal Bowl for our bulldog winter, and are pleased to report that it works exactly as advertised. Our bully has a completely flat face, i.e. her lower jaw is fairly underslung. She used to eat a cup and a half of food in less than thirty seconds. As a result, she frequently had gas and sometimes "returned" her meal. Since she started using the Slow em Down metal bowl, she takes several minutes to eat, has very little gas, and hasn't "retuned" a meal, since. We highly reccommend the Slow em Down metal bowl, especially for bulldogs.
